How to Set Up Arlo Go Camera

Arlo Go cameras do works with the same Arlo app as all other Arlo cameras and systems. Luckily you do not need a different app to set up your Arlo Go camera. But you must have a mobile data plan to use it. Arlo Go camera cannot connect over Wifi like other Arlo cameras do get connect. So you have to complete the Arlo Go setup in an area with cellular data coverage.

Follow are the steps for the set up:

1.Firstly, if your mobile service provider requires you to activate the SIM card, make sure that you have activated the SIM card.

2.Now, place your Arlo Go camera in a location with good cellular network coverage.

3.Next, open the battery compartment by pressing the latch and pulling back gently.

4.After that check to make sure that an LTE SIM card is installed in the left card slot of the camera.

5.Further, if you want to store the video recordings locally in case of cellular service interruption, then insert an SD card into the right-hand card slot of the camera. Arlo Go camera only accepts Micro SD cards, SDHC or SDXC only, with up to 32 GB capacities.

6.Now, align the battery contacts and insert the battery.

7.Finally, close the battery door.

8.But if you do not have an Arlo account, then download the Arlo app and click on the + icon. On the other hand, if you already have an Arlo account, then launch the Arlo app and click on Add Device.

9.Next step is select Arlo Go.

10.Then click on Continue.

11.After this press and release the sync button on the top of the camera. You will hear a click.

12.So hold your Arlo Go camera for about 8 inches in front of the QR code on your computer or mobile device screen until you hear a chime.

If you hear a chime then tap Yes, I heard a chime.

And if you do not hear a sound, then tap Back to try again, and then move the camera closer to or farther away from the QR code.

13.You have to wait for up to three minutes for Arlo to discover your camera.

For about 20 seconds of attempted discovery, you will see a link titled “Did you hear a buzz or is your camera LED blinking amber color?”

And if your service provider instructed you to edit you’re APN, then click did you hear a buzz or is your camera LED blinking amber color? Click on Edit, then enter the information from your service provider and click on Save.

Click Continue to confirm that your SIM card has been activated with your service provider.

Now return to step 11.

14.If your Arlo cannot discover your camera, click on TRY AGAIN or Edit APN Information.

Click on Save.

Click on continue to confirm that your SIM card has been activated with your service provider.

Again return to step 11.

15.Next, on the Name Your Device page, enter a name for your camera.

16.Click on Next.

17.If you are using Arlo Mobile as your service provider, select an Arlo Mobile plan and click on Continue.

18.And if you are setting up a new Arlo account, enter your account information.

19.Further, select an Arlo subscription plan and click on Continue.

20.Now review the summary of your Arlo service and subscriptions and click on CHECK OUT.
